Hello third grade students and families. I am so excited to be your cathecist this school year. I am a recently retired 7th grade teacher. I taught reading and writing at Arrowhead Middle School in Kansas City, Kansas.
My family has been a member of QHR for 38 years. I have taught SOR classes when my children were in school. My husband and I have been married for 44 years. We have four adult children, three daughters who live here and our son in Seattle. We also have 3 grandchildren, William almost 7, Evelyn almost 4 and Abram is one.
I am looking forward to helping each of you learn more about our Catholic faith and continue to grow in our love for God and each other.
Looking forward to meeting you!
Hello 3rd graders and families! My name is Megan Fuller, and I am so excited that my mom and I will be your catechists this year. My family and I have been members of Queen of the Holy Rosary almost my entire life, and I participated in the SOR program when I was growing up. My husband, Shane, and I have been married for twelve years, and our son, William, is a 1st grader this year. I am a loyal Jayhawk after having attended KU for both my undergraduate and graduate degrees. I work as a school psychologist currently serving two elementary schools and a parochial school in Kansas City, Kansas. I love spending time with my family, watching Royals and Chiefs games, and attending all of William’s sporting events and activities. I am looking forward to a great year and helping you deepen your love of God and understanding of our faith!
Third Grade will be using the Alive in Christ textbook by Our Sunday Visitor.
Grade Level Expectations
These prayers help provide us with a glimpse into the foundations of our Faith and a base from which our children can learn how to live their Faith.
In our religious education classes, we begin and end with a prayer. We ask that Parents help teach these prayers and lists to your children. Praying regularly at home will help them to master the required prayers for use in their lifetime. The Archdiocese offers guidelines of prayers to be learned at each grade level.
Grace Before Meals
Bless us O Lord, and these Thy gifts, which we are about to receive, from Thy bounty, through Christ our Lord. Amen
Grace After Meals
We give Thee thanks for all Thy benefits, O Almighty God, who lives and reigns forever. Amen
Anointing of the Sick
Prayer to St. Michael
Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou, O prince of the heavenly hosts, by the power of God, thrust into Hell Satan and all the evil spirits, who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen
