Grade Level Expectations
These prayers help provide us with a glimpse into the foundations of our Faith and a base from which our children can learn how to live their Faith.
In our religious education classes, we begin and end with a prayer. We ask that Parents help teach these prayers and lists to your children. Praying regularly at home will help them to master the required prayers for use in their lifetime. The Archdiocese offers guidelines of prayers to be learned at each grade level.
This list is also includes all the previous years grade level expectations.
Act of Contrition
My God, I am sorry for my sins with all my heart. In choosing to do wrong and failing to do good, I have sinned against you whom I should love above all things. I firmly intend, with your help, to do penance, to sin no more, and to avoid whatever leads me into sin. Our Savior Jesus Christ suffered and died for us. In his name, my God, have mercy. Amen
The Ten Commandments

2. You shall not the name of the Lord your God in vain.
3. Remember to keep holy the Lord’s Day.
4. Honor you father and you mother.
5. You shall not kill.
6. You shall not commit adultery.
7. You shall not steal.
8. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
9. You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife.
10. You shall not covet your neighbor’s goods.
Process of the Sacrament of Reconciliation
Going to Confession…
Make an Examination of Conscience
In the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen
Bless me Father, for I have sinned, this is my first confession
These are my sins -
Tell Father what you wish to be forgiven for and how often you think these sins happen
Father I am sorry for these sins and all the sins of my past life.
The priest will then give you some spiritual guidance, and a penance.
Recite your Act of Contrition
The priest will give absolution (forgiveness) and then the Preist will say — Go in Peace
You respond— Thanks be to God.
