Lesson Plans - April 5
This week we focus on Palm Sunday and the events of Holy Week
We are asking all the families to make their own palms to celebrate Palm Sunday at home (and send Denise your pictures)!
There is a pattern on the home page or you can trace and cut your handprints to make ones similar to these. Or feel free to make your own with whatever you have available.
Read the story of Palm Sunday to go along with this craft. If you're looking for a more interactive way to tell the story, there is a free app called Bible for Kids that is great for telling bible stories and it has activities for most stories.
Looking forward toward the rest of the week, you can use this craft to tell the story of Holy Week. Cut out each cross and glue to each side of a larger cross that you can cut out of a piece of construction paper.
Lesson Plans - March 29
Unfortunately our Kindergarten textbook does not have an online version, but I will be posting lessons and activities that go along with what our chapters covered.
Teachings of Jesus
We have been discussing the importance of going to mass and learning about some of the things we see in the church.
We now move on to the readings we hear in mass. This video recaps the sermon on the mount and is a good example to show how the way we hear stories in mass is the same way people heard stories from Jesus.
For prayer time we have mostly been focusing on the Hail Mary and the proper way to do the Sign of the Cross. We now move on to the Our Father.
If you are able to print at home, this link to the DLTK website has an Our Father booklet you can make. If not, you can still view the pages of the book to review the prayer.
This worksheet is a good way to review what we were learning before spring break. Can the students remember some of the items on the altar?
Our online masses may be a good way for the students to see some of these items up close. New mass videos are posted every Saturday at 4:00.
