I have been teaching in the School of Religion for the past 10 years. My 4 sons have all graduated from the SOR program and a couple of them even helped in the classes.
My favorite thing about SOR is that it feels like a family- a very close community-where we all care about each other!
I am also a nurse practitioner at Children's Mercy Hospital and I take care of kids with cancer. In my free time, I like to bake, walk and read.
Fourth Grade will meet in class, once a month on the following Sundays:

Fourth Grade will be using the Alive in Christ textbook by Our Sunday Visitor.
Students will be given a textbook to take home. They will need to bring their textbook with them when attending in person sessions.
Grade Level Expectations
These prayers help provide us with a glimpse into the foundations of our Faith and a base from which our children can learn how to live their Faith.
In our religious education classes, we begin and end with a prayer. We ask that Parents help teach these prayers and lists to your children. Praying regularly at home will help them to master the required prayers for use in their lifetime. The Archdiocese offers guidelines of prayers to be learned at each grade level.
This list is also includes all the previous years grade level expectations.
Hail Holy Queen (Salve Regina)
Hail, holy Queen, Mother of mercy, our life, our sweetness and our hope. To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve; to thee do we send up our signs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears. Turn then, most gracious Advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us, and after this our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus, O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary! Pray for us, most holy Mother of God, that we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ. Amen.
O Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I offer You all my prayers, works joys and sufferings of this day in union with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. I offer them for all the intentions of your Sacred Heart; for the salvation of souls, reparations for sin, the reunion of all Christians. I offer them for all the intentions of our Bishops and Apostles of Prayers and in particular for those recommend by our Holy Father for this month. Amen
V: The angel of the Lord declared unto Mary.

Hail Mary ……
V. Behold the handmaid of the Lord.
R: Be it done to me according to thy word.
Hail Mary …..
V: And the world was made flesh.
W: And dwelt among us.
Hail Mary ….
V: Pray for us, O holy Mother of God.
W: That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.
Let us pray: Pour forth, we beseech thee, O Lord, they grace into our hearts, that we to whom the Incarnation of Christ thy Son was made known by the message of angel, may by his Passion and Cross be brought to the glory of his Resurrection. Through the same Christ our Lord. Amen
